The role
The Platform and Reliability Engineering Group are responsible for the technology platforms and services that underpin the Rightmove website, ensuring it is available, secure and performing to a world class standard. We strive to deliver annual availability of at least 99.99% (less than 5 mins downtime a month). Being the infrastructure backbone of Rightmove, we work in a fast-paced environment which is rewarding and requires us to work together closely as well as collaboratively across the organisation to ensure the sites reliability. As part of the wider Product Development team, we recognise that to deliver the best products and features for our consumers and customers we need to work effectively as a healthy, high performing technology organisation. We work together with Architecture, DBAs, QAs, Data Analytics, SRE’s and the Product Development teams to enable Rightmove’s business strategy.
The Core Infrastructure Engineer sits within the Platform and Reliability Engineering Group and is responsible for engineering, operation and security of the technology platforms and services that underpin the Rightmove website. They champion operational excellence ensuring we uphold our already world-class quality of service whilst enabling the business to develop and deliver its product offering at pace.
